WE FREQUENTLY ASK QUESTIONS TO INVOKE SENSATION AND RECOVER OURSELVES.
/ YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

What is trauma-informed coaching?Trauma-informed coaching means that I work with people from a stable and functioning baseline who desire to pursue recovery. I DO WORK with folks who have experienced past trauma (as most of us encounter degrees of trauma). I DO NOT WORK with those who are in any stage of acute trauma. A pre-requisite for working together is the all-important screening process, during which we agree on objectives and hold a common appreciation for the nature of possibility that lives within this modality. If unmetabolized stress does come up during our time together, we'll have already agreed on how to safely meet it. In this modality, we do not focus on the story of trauma but rather we reorientate to sensations that are alive inside the body. The primary goal of coaching is NOT to heal trauma. Healing is often a by-product because this work easily lends itself to repair. The primary focus of coaching is TO FEEL whatever is present, even when constricted or uncomfortable, and stay the course long enough to experience a natural dissolving or shift. If you are experiencing severe or acute trauma manifestations, please consult with a licensed trauma counselor or doctor.

What is the difference between traditional therapy and somatic coaching?Traditional talk therapies focus solely on the mental realm and understanding a person’s past in order to heal present traumas through critical thinking. In the PIP method of somatic coaching, we focus on inhabiting the mental, physical, energetic and emotional bodies through an individualized recovery program. As your coach, my role is to ask questions, prompt your breath, movements and sounds. I spark novel inquiries while containing safe structures. Together, we follow your unique pace to illuminate what it takes for your body to feel what is there and mobilize towards your objective desires. Here, you are free to express yourself in any manner. You are free to openly struggle. You will be met with curiosity and compassion within the magnitude of the somatic.

What does Somatic mean?Soma originates from the Greek language and translates to “body” in English. Somatic means "of the body" and is most often used in connection with health. In this method, we reference somatic as a way to describe your internal felt sense (sometimes referred to as your sixth sense), a sense of what is happening inside your unique body. It’s important to distinguish this internal feeling from general emotion. An emotion is a socially agreed upon word to define how we feel at any given moment. BUT your somatic orientation to the emotion anger, for instance, is likely very different from my internal experience. When I feel angry, I see red flashes and my back muscles contract. YOU may experience anger as numbness and perhaps follow your urge to quickly grab your phone. We are both feeling anger but we somatically experience it in very different ways. In the PIP method of somatic coaching, we explore the experience of your internal sense. Here, we believe that nothing is a problem. We do not judge whether a feeling is good or bad or an idea, right or wrong. Each data point becomes another important connection in recovering, recalibrating and reviving ourselves.

What is Embodiment? To me, Embodiment speaks to the devotional flavor of coming into contact with the body. This is the very reason that we hold an embodied recovery as the standard of change within the PIP method. Somatic inquiry processing is the tool that supports embodied recovery, as a devotional practice. Without the deep inner willingness to apply repetition, we lack an essential ingredient needed to recover ourselves.

What does this modality of coaching stand for?PIP Somatic braids three significant threads into one wide focus. (P): PRIMARY (I): INTERNAL (P): PRIORITIES It's my hope that by clarifying your Primary Internal Priorities, we can ignite lasting moments of resonance and root seeds of awareness, so that we might all collectively feel and be felt on this path of recovery. Our Primary Internal Priorities serve as guiding lights. By identifying our core priorities (things like, time for wonderful friendship, enjoying eating all sorts of foods, moving in rhythmic dance, creativity, spaciousness, showing up for morning pages, and on and on)… we can clearly see and go for what we want… without the weight of big doubt, without the overwhelm of guilt, without the spiral of shame and without paralyzing fear. These moments of prioritizing internal resonance act as our beacons, illuminating not just relief on the path of recovery but far beyond into fulfillment, possibility and prosperity. PIP Somatic is also sweetly inspired by mother earth’s pips, better known as the small seeds found inside fruit like apples and pears. The pip lives inside the fruit and contains a seed. Within the natural world, a pip’s job is to protect the fruit’s seed until it’s ready to sprout. Isn't it wild that these small little objects contain SO much LIFE?! They can go through every possible obstacle and grow into towering trees that participate in the ecosystem of life. This is wildly, unbelievably and naturally hopeful to me because it grants me permission to JUST GROW... without restriction or suppression or control or performance. I can be a seed and grow on my own terms, as the expert of me, while serving the greater good but JUST BEING ME. damn. I STAND FOR somatic repetition and relational interdependence as cornerstones to the hygiene of our humanity. I VALUE the recovery of our whole selves even in the midst of the chaotic impacts of another’s addiction.

Who is the PIP modality NOT for?I work as a trauma-informed coach and DO NOT work with folks in acute trauma. I also DO NOT work with families or children under 18 years of age. If you need those types of support for you or a loved one, please consult with a licensed counselor or doctor.
-
Can I come to an in-person session? At this time, PIP does not offer in-person sessions.
-
How can I get the most out of being coached? We suggest that you show up as honest as possible. We recommend coming to each session willing to practice curiosity around your recovery. We invite you to be unapologetic in asking for what you need. We offer the permission to move at the speed and within the timeframe that your current lifestyle allows. You are very welcome to center your comfort for each session. That may look different on different days; bring a glass of water or a tea, set a pen/notebook nearby or perhaps have blanket and a box of tissues on hand. We recommend being in a quiet and private place with great WiFi so you can get the most out of the process.
-
What happens in between sessions? If you've committed to a Recovery Intensive or a Drop-in Package, you will receive extra support in personalized areas with the aim and focus to move your recovery forward during our time together. A solo Drop-In Session will leave you with actionable next steps and we suggest you implement a self-accountable timeframe for reflection and action as needed.

How do I know if this is for me?When you feel into the desire for your own recovery and needs, is there hunger? Is there desperation? Is there resistance or constriction? Is there numbness? Is there confusion? We suggest booking a complimentary information call with Danielle to ask questions and feel into the process before making a decision about scheduling a session or investing in the Recovery Intensive Program.
-
How much of my time will the Recovery Awakening take? The Recovery Awakening is a 6 month commitment and is structured to your lifestyle and needs. This means we tailor the program to your availability which might look like twice a month or twice a week. In addition to tailored 1:1 coaching sessions, the Recovery Awakening offers between-session after-care practice and communication. The amount of time dedicated to practice is for you to decide. From experience, I find that the more time I devote to my personal mastery, the more prominent the impacts. As the saying goes,“It works, if you work it.”
-
What is the cancellation policy?Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance of the scheduled session to receive a full refund. If cancellation is not made within 24 hours, no refund will be processed. There are exceptions to this outlined further in your contract. Please make sure to read your contract in its entirety.
-
Are payment plans available?Yes, monthly payment plans are available. All sessions must be paid for at the time of booking. Sessions and programs will not begin until the invoice is paid. We suggest booking a complimentary information call with Danielle for more information.

What kind of results do your clients experience?I’ll share the musings directly from my past clients: “I've loved our embodiment coaching sessions. I've felt deeply held and in a safe container with you and this has allowed me to reach depth in our sessions that I was not able to reach in other places, bringing light and clarity on topics and feelings I could not explore on my own or with other people. I appreciate the quality of your questions as well as the way you've made me feel that all of me was welcome, no matter what I was feeling and experiencing. This is such a rare place to be and I really needed that! I feel you bring a perfect mix of intuition, kindness, care as well as inner structure and clarity, and this has been so soothing and healing for me. On top of that, embodiment coaching opens a space that is beyond words and that I haven't experienced anywhere else - a space where I can fully listen to my body and where my thoughts get quiet. The dimension of this wisdom is magic for me and I wouldn't miss it for anything else in the world. Thank you so much for all of that!” - Lisa, former client "Danielle has a warm presence that is deep and activating. If you're seeking an Embodiment Coach to help support you in deepening vulnerability and awakening your voice and power, I'd highly recommend working with Danielle." - Jenna Ward, Founder School of Embodied Arts
